How to Get to Caxias do Sul:

By car:

From Porto Alegre:

  • Via BR-116: Exit from Porto Cheerful for the BR-116 toward the north. The trip lasts approximately 2 hours, covering about 120 km. The road is well signaled and has a good flow of vehicles, being one of the main routes to reach Caxias do Sul.

From Florianópolis:

  • Via BR-101 and BR-116: Leave Florianópolis by BR-101 toward the south. Then take the BR-116 towards the interior of the state. The trip lasts about 6 and a half hours, covering approximately 500 km.

By bus:

  • There are regular bus lines from Porto Alegre Bus Station to Caxias do Sul, operated by companies such as the Golden and Silver Viation and the Unesul Viation. The buses are comfortable and the trip lasts about 2 hours.

By plane:

Hugo Cantergiani Airport (South Coaxias): Caxias do Sul has a regional airport, the Hugo Cantergiani Airport, which receives regular flights from some capitals and large Brazilian cities such as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The airport is about 10 km from the city centre. From the airport, you can take a taxi or rent a car to reach your final destination.

Salgado Filho International Airport (Porto Alegre): Another option is to fly to Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre, which offers a greater amount of flights and connections. From there, you can follow by car or bus to Caxias do Sul, on a trip of about 2 hours.
